This recipe is so easy to make – water chestnuts are marinated in soy sauce, then rolled in brown sugar, wrapped in bacon and cooked. It does require some advance preparation – the water chestnuts are marinated in the soy sauce for two and a half hours. However, you can complete your last minute dinner or party preparations while the water chestnuts are marinating.

Depending on how much time you have, the bacon-wrapped water chestnuts can be either baked or broiled. It takes thirty minutes to bake the water chestnuts, or you can broil them for five to six minutes.
