Chocolate has a Bright Future in China

China’s chocolate consumption is increasing at the rate of 30 percent per year, according to this feature in the Times Online. Of course, this doesn’t mean that traditional Chinese sweet snacks, such as sesame seed balls, are going to disappear anytime soon. Still, reporter Richard Parry notes that cheaper, fake versions of famous chocolate brands are already showing up in some Chinese candy stores – a sure sign that chocolate has “arrived” in China!
