Pepper Steak

Thursday June 5, 2008
This recipe brings back happy memories – the first time I prepared dinner for a boyfriend, I made pepper steak. I was very nervous, but it turned out beautifully. The meat was tender, and the soy sauce and broth gravy tasted great served over the rice, meat and vegetables. If you’re new to Chinese cuisine, basic fried pepper steak is a great way to get an idea of the flavors used in Chinese cooking without knowing how to stir-fry. Once you’ve gained more experience, you can try out your newfound skills on recipes such as Cantonese Stir-fried Steak With Peppers. This recipe for basic fried pepper steak is made with bell peppers, fresh mushrooms and baby corn.
