Video: How to Use Chopsticks

Sunday November 16, 2008
I recently read a poem that includes a vivid description of the narrator’s attempts to eat with chopsticks – the sticks clacking against one another, the food stubbornly slipping through them to land back on the plate. It brought back memories of my initial attempts to use chopsticks many years ago. However, it doesn’t have to be that difficult – anyone can learn to use chopsticks with a little practice. My video shows how to use chopsticks, covering the basic steps and then following someone as they try out their new-found skills at a Chinese restaurant.

I would love to see a video on how the Chinese waiters using two serving spoons in one hand to pick up the food. It’s so professional!
