Fresh Chinese: Over 80 Healthy Chinese Recipes

Wednesday January 7, 2009
In the introduction to Fresh Chinese, nutritionist Wynnie Chan points out that the media have two very different views about Chinese food: "some claim that it is unhealthy because it is full of fat, salt, and MSG, while others believe that the Chinese diet is nutritious because it uses lots of vegetables and a minimum of oil." Chan, a nutritionist with the the Chinese National Healthy Living Centre in the UK, believes that properly cooked, Chinese food can be both healthy and delicious. The recipes in this book all feature fresh ingredients, and rely heavily on spices to provide flavor instead of excess sugar and salt. Each recipe includes a nutritional analysis.
