Lychee (Litchi) Recipes For Lovers

Friday February 13, 2009
rightValued for its sweet taste, the heart shaped lychee is a symbol of love in Chinese culture, making it the perfect cornerstone of a Valentine’s Day meal. Start with this easy Pork and Lychee Stir-fry, where the sweet flavor of lychee fruit marries nicely with pork. For a romantic dessert that’s not too heavy, try a litchi granita - this refreshing, sorbet-like dessert combines lychee and kiwi fruit with lime juice for an interesting contrast in flavors. Both of these recipes feature canned lychees - easy to find at most supermarkets. Made with Lichido Liqueur, a Litchitini martini cocktail adds the final touch to your meal.
