It is said that ancient Chinese people didn’t like to throw away their left over rice, because it’s against their culture that taught them to live efficient and don’t waste things.

So they tried to find out how to re-use the already cold and stony left over rice. So finally they found out how to make it into fried rice… :)

Btw, fried rice has made its way to South East Asia, and here in Indonesia there are a lot varieties of Fried Rice, most of them are brought by Chinese Immigrants…

Please let share a recipe of Fried Rice from Indonesia…. :)

Fried rice is quite popular in Thailand too, though they usually add MSG – yuck! A simple fried rice with whatever veggies I’ve got and some soy sauce and sesame oil is a favorite stand-by when I’m hungry and don’t feel like cooking something fancy. Thanks for sharing!
