Fabulous Fried Rice

Sunday May 31, 2009
Fried rice is a great choice when you’re looking for something to cook in a hurry. The origins of fried rice in China are lost to history, although historians believe Yangchow fried rice, the famous fried rice dish from Yangchow in eastern China , dates back to the Siu dynasty (581 – 617 AD). Today, fried rice is enjoyed throughout Asia.

One of the great things about fried rice is that it is very adaptable – just use whatever ingredients you have on hand. Savory ingredients like pork, shrimp, or beef will add extra texture and flavor. Properly made, fried rice is a dry dish, so you may want to serve it with a soup such as Wonton Soup. Learn how to make fried rice and try recipes for fried rice with pork, chicken, shrimp and more.
