Actually, it is not very popular as if tastes bitter. But it is good food if your blood pressure tends to be high.

People either love or hate its bitter taste (personally I’m a fan) – my feature on how to prepare bitter melon includes instructions on parboiling the vegetable to reduce the bitter flavor.
