Although
it is popular in Singapore, dragonfruit is not well known outside Asia. This may be partly because its slightly sweet and sour
flavor doesn't live up to its vivid appearance. It is unclear how
dragonfruit got its name, although it may be from the scaly ends of the
leaves. Snapple has come out with a new beverage, "Fire," featuring dragonfruit, along with ginseng, gingko biloba and a
number of of other fruit flavors.
