The Mandarin House, Montgomery Hwy, Telephone: (205)-822-1761
There is no substitute for the cuisine or the atmosphere of this restaurant. There is no accurate description of the flavor of their dishes. They are famous for their Sesame Chicken and Mongolian Beef - the list goes on and on. I have been a patron for 15 years & can say they know me just by what I order, I have introduced many a friend/relative and they are hooked. This restaurant is about 1 1/2 hours from my home and you ask if it's worth the drive and I'd have to emphatically say YES!Mobile
Wan Fu Restaurant, 3733 Airport Blvd., Mobile, AL 36608
Telephone: (334)-433-4422
- The best Chinese restaurant in Mobile, says Joseph Sackett, former About.com Guide to Mobile, Alabama.Montgomery
China Star, Forest Hill Shopping Center (off the Atlanta Highway)
- A quaint little Chinese food place that makes you feel right at home. I have been a loyal customer for 13 years now. My husband and I had our first date there and we often take our three children for a "night out." They have GREAT crab rangoon, and wonderful friendly service. It is quiet and the atmosphere is relaxing. The owner's name is Larry and he's always ready to give you a big smile.

P.F. Chang's China Bistro, 3101 Pga Blvd., Palm Beach Gardens, 33410, Telephone: (561) 691-1610
My wife and I drive 90 miles to eat at Chang's Bistro in West Palm Beach, Florida. Another is located in Orlando. This Chinese restaurant serves exceptionally good food in a very pleasant environment. Their soups, lettuce wraps, and eggplant dishes are but a few.Pensacola
Aroma of Mandarin, 4801 N. 9th Avenue, Telephone: 476 - 8899 (on 9th Avenue just south of Bayou Blvd.)
- One of the best Chinese restaurants that we have ever eaten at.Tampa
Ho Ho Choy. The address is: 12791 N Dale Mabry Hwy Tampa, FL, Telephone: (813) 962-2159.
This restaurant was recommended to me by a Chinese friend as the place to go for dim sum in Tampa. Ask for the Chinese menu and the dim sum menu, or you'll just get regular American-Chinese food. It's kind of a greasy spoon, but the food more than makes up for that. -
Georgia
Lawrenceville
Hong Kong Garden, 455 Grayson Highway (Kroeger Shopping Center), 30045, Telephone: (770) 962-1004
Absolutely fabulous and authentic. Daily luncheon specials (for $3.99) includes entrées such as General Tsau's Chicken, Fried Rice, Egg Rolls, Chicken Wings, soup such as Hot and Sour, and Hot Tea to go with it. Never a bad dish.DanThai Restaurant, 851 Oak Road, 30044, Telephone: (770) 985-1719
The best Thai Restaurant around - Exotic soups, best shrimp around for dishes, all dishes served as you wish from mild to hot to extremely hot and spicy. The Thai Egg Rolls are out of this world. - They serve buffet style or you can order from a menu. It's really a great place to go after church on Sunday or any other time. My ten-year-ol granddaughter has become a fan. She and I like them very much. -

Mandeville
Trey Yuen, 600 N. Causeway Blvd., Mandeville 626-4476
3084 College Drive, 70808, Telephone: (225) 928 - 3213
- This restaurant should be in the list of top 10 restaurants of the U.S. One interesting thing they do is the inclusion of alligator as one of their "meat" choices. I live about 110 miles away, and have driven over many times just because we wanted a good meal. A little "aside" story about their business: For several years I ordered "sweet & sour" whatever. In conversation one day I learned that the basic ingredients for the dishes, (for example, pineapple, cauliflower and bok choy) were all in a pickeling vat together. For years, I had been ordering mine with no cauliflower, no bok choy etc., and they had been sorting out what I did not like from the mixture and in essence "custom making" my dish. I can not think of a single bad comment on the food. The restaurant is beautifully done. There are several linked Koi ponds around the front and sides of the building. I have never had a bad meal at this restaurant. -
Mississippi
Pascagoula
Choung's Palace, 1740 Denny Avenue, MS, 39567, Telephone: (601) 769 - 7693
Although this restaurant would not be considered a top of the line establishment, it is located in an offbeat area of the country, halfway between Mobile, Alabama and New Orleans. It is a family run business and serves up food that reminds me of the mom and pop restaurants of San Francisco. (I am Chinese and have sampled foods from all over the world, including Hong Kong, Singapore, San Francisco, New York, and Vancouver, BC). -
North Carolina
Wilmington
Dragon Garden, College Road, Wilmington
Dragon Garden, College Road, Wilmington
The sesame chicken and fried fish are the best I've ever had, but everything they prepare is excellent! - South Carolina
Walterboro, 30 miles Northwest of Charleston
China Dragon Restaurant, 350 N. Jefferies Blvd., Telephone: (843) 549 - 5215
They have the finest Chinese food I have had outside of Washington, DC, and are the most wonderful, amiable people I have ever met. They work twelve hour days, always put their customers first, and are fantastic people. They opened the very first Chinese restaurant in this little Southern town after moving from Chicago over twenty years ago.
Another Reader Comments: I have to agree with the review of the China Dragon Restaurant. The people are wonderful and the food is pretty good. The way the food is delivered and presented is also very cool. I would have to say it is on the top ten list of Chinese establishments that I enjoy most. - Tennessee
Nashville
PF Chang's, 2525 West End, Nashville Tennessee, 37203, Telephone: (615) 329 - 8901
The newly opened PF Chang's is absolutely wonderful! It's on Westend Avenue next to Vanderbilt University.
