TRIVIA QUESTION: I am a hot spicy dish made with bean curd and black mushrooms. While both northern China and Szechuan claim to have invented me, I probably originated in the north. me the information that Hot and Sour Soup may have been originally made from congealed
pig's blood (his son was writing a report on the subject). You can distinguish Szechuan
Hot and Sour Soup from its northern counterpart by the taste; the former is generally a
spicy dish made with chili oil.
