The novel is about the daughter of Chinese immigrants who is forced to move back home with her family after graduating from Columbia University. Ng does an excellent job of portraying the complex family relationships, particularly between mother and daughter. The Kitchen God’s Wife is the second novel by well-known author Amy Tan. Won Ton Lust is John Krich’s retelling of his trip around the world in search of the world’s best Chinese restaurant. My America…or Honk if You Love Buddha is a documentary on what it means to be an Asian-American in the United States.
