Chinese Indian Food
Imagine fusing the spices and other ingredients traditionally associated with Indian cuisine with Chinese cooking techniques. Said to have originated with Chinese who immigrated to Calcutta (now called Kolkata), Chinese Indian cuisine is one of India’s hot food trends. Restaurants featuring Chinese Indian food can be found throughout Asia (including Singapore and Malaysia) and in North America. Here are a number of Indian recipes featuring a Chinese influence. Besides being stir-fried, some include typical Chinese seasonings such as soy sauce. They all go very nicely with Indian flatbread (Chapati) and a green salad. Feel free to prepare them in a Karahi – India’s version of a wok!
