Jalapeno Pepper Chili Oil

Makes about 1/2 cup

Ingredients:

  • 6 fresh Jalapeno chili peppers
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 tablespoons sesame oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper flakes
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon of granulated sugar

Preparation:

Cut the chili peppers in half and remove the seeds. Chop coarsely. Heat the vegetable oil in a pan over medium high to high heat. Carefully stir in the sesame oil.

  Add the Jalapeno peppers and simmer on low heat for 10 minutes. Stir in the cayenne pepper and paprika. Add the sugar and cook for another 2 - 3 minutes, stirring frequently.

Cool and strain the chili oil. Store in a sealed jar at room temperature.
